Pyrenees: Ceret

Bike ride that starts and ends in the center of Ceret.

 

You start in the center of Ceret. The start is immediately uphill. than down than uphill again and long downhill till the Voie vert which is a flat bike trail along the river Tech. On the voie vert you can turn east (right if you went downhill up to this point)and return to Ceret, or can turn west (left if you went downhill up to this point) up-till Arles sur Tech

Most of this trail is on paved roads so you will have to be careful of passing cars although not much traffic on those roads. Only one part is a gravel trail in the forest.

 

You can try and make a variation (see on the map below the red drop icon) and visit a little waterfall and a pool hiding between the trees. This is a very nice and calm spot to rest. The trail here is very narrow and I wouldn't recommend to ride on your bike on it. Just walk and hold your bike. You must walk on the south side of the river since the north side is a private property. You go and return on the same trail, and after finishing just continue riding as marked in the map.
